Sculpture!... A slide show of selected works.
I've spent the better part of the last decade using digital tools for art creation. It's revolutionized my creative process. Still, the old ways have their place. There is something to be said for holding a real object in your hand, walking around it and feeling its presence.
I've done many works using the “Lost Wax” process of bronze casting. In these works I explore an abstract reality of fluid, biomorphic forms. In the spirit of da Vinci's water studies, I study the flow of energy as a creative force.
The more colorful works were created using construction techniques I've developed. In one process I stretch spandex fabric over a frame and harden it with epoxy. The resulting curved forms have a mathematical beauty reminiscent of shells and flowers.
And an anatomical study. The expressive power of the human form has taken a more important role in my creative life.
